Dr. Samantha Curle (DPhil, FHEA, FRSA) is a Reader in Education (Applied Linguistics), Director of the MRes programme in Advanced Quantitative Research Methods (AQM, University of Bath), Pathway Lead for the ESRC’s AQM Southwest Doctoral Training Partnership (SWDTP, University of Bath), and Associate Member of the English Medium Instruction Oxford Research Group (University of Oxford). Her main research interest lies in factors affecting academic achievement in English Medium Instruction (EMI) in higher education. She has published six edited books on EMI with publishers such as Cambridge University Press, Springer, Bloomsbury and Routledge. She is currently editing a special issue on “Research Methods and Generative Artificial Intelligence in Applied Linguistics” in the journal Research Methods in Applied Linguistics. Teresa A. Oliveira is Associate Professor with Habilitation, in Mathematics-Statistics, at the Department of Sciences and Technology of the Universidade Aberta in Lisbon. She obtained MSc and doctoral degrees in Statistics and Operations Research at the University of Lisbon and is a senior member of the Center of Statistics and Applications (CEAUL) there. Her research interests include Experimental Design, Statistical Quality Control, Risk Analysis, Statistical Modeling, Computational Statistics, Stochastic Models, Data Analysis, and e-Learning Methodologies. She actively participated in many Erasmus+ Bilateral and Teaching Programs and was selected by the National Agency as an evaluator for Erasmus+ during 2021/2027. She is the Chair of the ISI-CRA International Statistical Institute - Committee on Risk Analysis and is a founding member of the ISI Working Group on Data Science. With extensive editorial experience, she is Associate Editor of JAS - Journal of Applied Statistics and of MPS - Mathematical Population Studies and is also member of some other prestigious Journal Editorial Boards. She has authored/co-authored numerous peer-reviewed international and national papers, books, special issues, and proceedings, and her main research results were presented at many conferences, workshops, courses, and invited seminars worldwide. Prof. Filomena Teodoro is Associate Professor in Mathematics and Statistics at DCeT- Naval Academy, Universitary Military Institute, in Almada, Portugal. Her MSc degree in Statistics and Information management was completed in Nova -IMS, New University of Lisbon, her diploma degree in Physics Engineering and doctoral degree in Computational Mathematics were obtained at Instituto Superior Técnico, Technical University of Lisbon. She is a senior member of the CEMAT, https://cemat.ist.utl.pt/main.php. Her research interests include Computational Mathematics, Computational Statistics, Mathematics Applied to Medicine, Biomathematics, Risk Analysis, Data Analysis, and e-Learning Methodologies.
