"Striking a Balance: Considering the Affordances and Challenges of ChatGPT in Education"
Dr. Helen Crompton is an Associate Professor of Instructional Technology, at Old Dominion University (ODU). She is the Director of the Virtual Reality Lab and the Technology Enhanced Learning Lab (TELL) at ODU. She draws from over 25 years in education and a Ph.D. in educational technology and mathematics education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Crompton is on Stanford’s list of the top 2% of scientists in the world, and she has received numerous awards in the USA and her home country England for her work in technology integration, including the SCHEV award for the Outstanding Professor of Virginia. She is a consultant for various governments and bilateral and multilateral organizations, such as the United Nations and the World Bank on educational technology topics. She also consults for organizations, such as the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE). Dr. Crompton has published over 150 articles on technology integration including authoring publications for the United Nations, the World Bank, and ISTE.

ChatGPT in English Medium Instruction Higher Education: Harnessing the Benefits and Navigating the Challenges
Dr. Samantha M. Curle is a faculty member in the Department of Education at the University of Bath where she teaches and supervises on subjects related to Applied Linguistics and Advanced Quantitative Research Methods (AQM). She is Director of the Master of Research in AQM and the Pathway Lead for AQM for the South West Doctoral Training Partnership (funded by the ESRC). Her main interest lies in factors affecting academic achievement in English Medium Instruction. She has published three edited books on EMI: Research Methods in English Medium Instruction (2021), English-Medium Instruction in Higher Education in the Middle East and North Africa (2022) and The Use of Technology in English Medium Education (2022).

Critical, Ethical and Ecological Perspectives in the Educational Use of Technology
Dr. Victoria I. Marín is a Senior Research Fellow Ramón y Cajal in the Department of Educational Sciences at the University of Lleida and member of the research team at the same university Competences, Technology and Society in Education (COMPETECS). Ph.D. in Educational Technology: Virtual Learning and Knowledge Management by the University of the Balearic Islands (Spain). Collaborating researcher of the Educational Technology Group (GTE) of the latter university, affiliated to the Institute for Research and Innovation in Education (Palma, Spain) and member of the Center for Open Education Research (COER) of the University of Oldenburg (Germany). Her research has focused on the application of digital technologies in teaching and learning, especially in higher education and teacher training. Her recent and current research revolves around (critical) digital competence and (personal) data literacy, cultural and ethical issues of educational technology, personal learning environments (PLE), student and teacher agency and open educational practices.
